With the prospect of water in the California over New Years looking quite poor, Darin McQuoid, David Maurier and myself drove to the northern most drainage in California, the Smith River, for the edge of an Oregon storm that was planned to hit. The day we arrived we received an inch of overnight rain, luckily [...] -

Last Saturday was the Great Southern Fishing Show. I went, despite the horrible rain and hail storm. What I got from the show was that it was very much geared towards fly fisherman, and there were only a few black bass themed booths. The Simms bus was there, along with Unicoi and Calcutta. I didn’t watch [...] -

Stuart, You have lots of options for boats that would work well for you! One obvious choice would be the Rogue, which is a great crossover kayak for recreational flatwater paddling and whitewater river running as well. This will definitely be the fastest of our whitewater boats in on lakes and other flatwater. It’s a [...]

I am pretty sure the Funrunner 70 is not nearly as big a boat as the Super-fun. It’s a longer boat, and may be fun for you to paddle and squirt and surf, but the cockpit room and waterline will be smaller for sure. Consider the Funrunner 70 to be a Med / Large size [...]

I paddled the All-star the other day (31” inseam, 175 lbs) and actually found the Rockstar M to be a much more comfortable boat for me. While my legs are not long, I find the rockstar is easier to get the bow under and the ‘balance’ feels much better at my weight. While I can [...]

Hey Nico – Not sure when the photos will be up or European boats get there but on the cockpit rim: The high forward cockpit rim is good for getting legs into and out of the boat, but it’s subject to excess skirt wear and some wicked face impact when you piton or land flat [...]

Hi from Oz guys
I just received my new Coosa Elite & was wondering if it safe to use a scupper trolley like the Sea to Summit Solution? This is what the dealer delivered with the yak. Would using one void warranty?
Its around a 400 yard drag down to the river & back, bitumen most of the way then reasonably smooth going on grass, dirt & sand.
I was surprised to get a 2012 model delivered I thought they might not have arrived in Australia yet. But no owners handbook, is there somewhere online where I can download one?
This is my first yak, love at first sight & I’m busting to get it in the water…..soon..very soon.Grant.
