One more good think about Jackson Kayak, it takes care of the ladies and with style!

Since I meet my wife Deryn, she’s always has been concerned about kayaking. She is really modest and respectful on the river.
One thing that she always tells me about kayaking is that she feels really happy to be able to buy girly boats. Jackson Kayak is the best for this, not only because the beautiful pink color that JK provides but also because there is a lot of great female boaters on the JK team.
My wife really likes the Hero series and she’s been dropping some descent sizes waterfalls in it. She likes the way that the kayak cruises around and how easy is to roll. Deryn, my wife, is also super exited to get a new Hero.
I hope that you guys like the pictures and congratulations for all the woman that do this sport, I can’t demonstrate how proud I am to see you all kayaking!!
I hope you are enjoying your winter!

If your sense of humor is the type where you laugh when other people get hurt or are put into “not so fun” unexpected situations then you’ll have yet another chance to laugh at my expense again on national television this Sunday, when my, now famous, goose attack blooper airs two times on two different networks.

The attack will be airing on The Travel Channel show, “When Vacations Attack,” at 5pm and 8pm EST. The show will have segments where they cut back to me discussing the incident and it should be a very funny segment due to me, well, being my ridiculous self during the interviews. I hardly remember what I said, but I do remember the camera man laughing several times so hopefully the audience will also get a kick out of the segment and I won’t embarrass myself too much, but who knows, and I don’t care because it is all in good fun! The show preview can be seen by clicking on the link below. It looks like they have edited it from the angle that I “mocked” the goose, which didn’t happen, and in reality I did the opposite of mock the goose because I actually befriended the thing for an hour and tried to even see if it wanted to check out the fish I caught…and of course you saw how it repaid me!!! Erghhh, but I digress…Anyway, its all for entertainment purposes so we’ll see what they do with it to entertain us!

http://www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/When_Vacations_Attack/Episodes/EpisodeEight

You can also catch me getting my tail whipped by that silly goose on America’s Funniest Home Videos at 7pm EST, so it is a double dose of Drew in Jackson Kayaks getting beat down by waterfowl.

If you haven’t seen the original blooper video you can check it out at this link.

A few months ago while I was surfing the American Whitewater website, I stumbled upon a post asking for story submissions about ’Love and Whitewater”. The light instantly went off in my head that Jen and I should do something for this issue, since we had a unique wedding story that Jackson Kayak had a big part of to make it perfect!

I told Jennifer about it and since she is the English major I highly encouraged her to get out her artistic literary quill to author this story. She spent a few nights up late writing and rewriting the story. Apparently great literary works can only happen at night for her… She put me in charge of finding some of our better photos to include with the story. After about a week of collaborating, the story and photos came together. However, Jen was having trouble coming up with a good title. She asked me to help her with that and I started putting together key words in my head and within two minutes the story title flashed upon me and I announced it to Jen, She loved it and the story was complete!

We submitted the story to AW and they published it in the current Jan/Feb 2011 Issue! Click on the link below to read the complete article with photos:

The Coosa is named after the popular Coosa River that flows from Georgia into Alabama. It was named Coosa because the river really demonstrates what type of water the boat can handle; from the whitewater on the Etowah River and Amicolola Creek, that both boast great trout fishing, to the flatwater on the popular Coosa chain of lakes (AL) that have held numerous professional bass tournaments.

The Coosa River System Lakes start at the State Line in the upper northeast corner of Alabama from Georgia then runs south to the lower southern end of the state. It starts with Lake Weiss then moves into Lake Neely Henry, Lake Logan Martin, Lay Lake, Lake Mitchell, and then Jordan Lake. While all of these lakes are on the same river system they all are different and a number of fishing tactics are used to gain the upper hand on their fish.

Like the entire river/lake system the Coosa kayak is versatile as well, not only in its unique deck design, but in the type of environments it can handle. So, to me, Coosa just made perfect sense, and from a marketing standpoint it sure didn’t hurt that it was easy to say, sounded cool and was easy to spell.
