NMZ Ned, the Tuna has been a pleasant surprise as a solo boat! It rocks. Low profile, speed of a long boat, super stable for fishing, standing etc… its great.

  • James McBeath commented on the blog post Product Description   2 months, 3 weeks ago · View

Hey Alex, the journey has a capacity of about 285lbs (Journey 13.5) and 310 lbs (the Journey 14). All storage is in sealed bulkheads too, meaning not only dry storage but air tight for buoyancy. Packing is always a fun game for balance but by day 2 of the trip you’ll have the routine down [...]

  • James McBeath commented on the blog post Product Description   2 months, 3 weeks ago · View

Paul, yes … speed and cruising ability will be a difference. The 2 feet go a long way speeding up those long treks. Storage is another factor…if your trips require more storage than less (overnights etc.) then the 2 more feet also gain you dry bulkhead storage room… two feet is a lot!

  • James McBeath commented on the blog post Jackson Cuda Homemade Fish Finder Rig   2 months, 3 weeks ago · View

Steve, lots of ways to mount. You can stage a side mount using Talon and other mounting systems so you can take the sensor off at any time. But… I mounted it under my seat in the bottom of the kayak as recommended by Hummingbird… works great and because the Coosa has such a big [...]

  • James McBeath commented on the blog post A Week With the Cuda!   3 months ago · View

Jeff, sorry just noticed your post. I was on the coast of Mexico with very big break (El Norte and 60 mph winds!) and the Cuda rocked it… It has a very good hull for surfing in and breaking out… hull design for breaking water is what Jackson has traditionally always done well. More importantly [...]
